PRESIDENT

Robyn has a background in health and has worked in the public and private sector. Robyn has been a Rotarian since 1993, is a Past President of the Rotary Club of Christchurch, a Paul Harris Fellow and Past District Co-ordinator of Interplast.

Robyn is Chair of the Board of Windsorcare Retirement Village, a not for profit organisation and has held the role since 2018.

She is Chair of the Nurses’ Memorial Chapel Trust, committee member of the Friends’ of the Nurses’ Memorial Chapel and volunteer at the Nurses’ Memorial Chapel.

Robyn is a member and Past President of the Canterbury Club and is currently the Patron.

She was a recipient of the Queen’s Service Medal in 2020 for services to the community.

SECRETARY

Lorraine’s main professional career was spent as Procurement Manager for the Canterbury District Health Board and Healthlink South. Owning her own business, she transferred her negotiating skills to working with the management of retirement villages and private hospitals, affording them competitive pricing for their purchasing requirements.

Working on her own became less attractive after a while so she joined the Christchurch College of Education in a similar field.

Her partner had set up business, Ventilation Technology (Ventech) where she became a joint Director of the company taking care of marketing, administration and accounts.

Lorraine has spent a good part of her life in a fundraising capacity, first for Plunket followed by 20 years as President of the Friends of Christchurch Symphony Orchestra.

She was a member of Garden City Lions for 17 years and has been a member of Soroptimist International for 12 years.

She was awarded a Queen’s Service Medal in 2017 for Services to Music.

COUNCIL MEMBER

Stephen had an extensive career in local government, followed by a management role in youth health and as Chief Executive of Age Concern Canterbury.

Since retiring he has undertaken a variety of voluntary governance roles both at a local and national level. He was also an independent trustee of the Ōtautahi Community Housing Trust.

In addition to his role on the RCS Stephen is currently a member of the Board of Age Concern Canterbury and Trustee of the Age Concern Canterbury Trust.

In 2021 Stephen was made a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to seniors and the community.

COUNCL MEMBER

David has been involved with volunteer organisations for over 50 years. He spent 8 years in the NZ Naval Volunteer Reserve, was National Programme Manager for the NZ ‘Pride in our Nation’ Project, Past National Vice President and was awarded Senator/Life Membership in 1978 of the Jaycee International Organisation.

He held managerial positions in engineering companies before setting up his own business in domestic ventilations systems.

He is a Council member and Treasurer of RCS Canterbury and Trustee of the associated Trust.

David is a volunteer driver for the Cancer Society and a Business Analyst and Mentor for Business Mentors NZ.

COUNCIL MEMBER

Janine has worked in education for over 30 years, specialising in the Corrections sector and specialist education. In 2026, she was appointed a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit (MNZM) for services to education.

Throughout her career, Janine has focused on championing education's most vulnerable learners. She currently serves as a school principal, continuing her work in educational leadership.

Outside of school, Janine lives on a lifestyle block, where spending time in nature and the countryside provides a natural complement to her professional work.

COUNCIL MEMBER

Angelene Holton has over 40 years' experience in governance, policy, strategic planning and risk management across the New Zealand Parliament, central and local government, the primary sector and Crown Research Institutes.

She served as Senior Private Secretary to three Cabinet Ministers in successive governments, providing policy coordination and advice across sector portfolios, and participating in international engagements including GATT negotiations, the FAO World Ministers' Conference and discussions at the UK House of Commons.

Her career has included senior leadership roles with the Ministry for Primary Industries, fisheries sectors, and 18 years with CRI’s, most recently as National Biosafety and Environmental Compliance Manager for the Bioeconomy Science Institute.

Angelene has extensive experience advising Boards, Audit and Risk Committees and executive leadership teams on policy, organisational strategy, regulatory compliance and enterprise risk management.

A former Director of the Association of Biosafety for Australia and New Zealand (ABSANZ) and a ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, she brings extensive experience in board governance, facilitation and stakeholder engagement gained from working across political, scientific, regulatory and commercial sectors.

COUNCIL MEMBER

Superintendent Sandra Manderson (Rtd) served 40 years in the New Zealand Police, during that time she held a range of positions including frontline and operational appointments, CIB and National leadership roles at Police National Headquarters.

Sandra was the first female officer to be promoted to the rank of Superintendent and later became the first female District Commander in Canterbury leading approximately 1000 dedicated staff.

During her time in Canterbury she was a contingent commander in Thailand after the devastating tsunami. She then went on to represent NZ police in the USA for four years as the representative in America.

On her return to New Zealand she was the Commander of International Services and the Operations commander for a visit from Prince Charles, the FIFA under 20 World Cup, ICC World Cup and the lions tour of NZ. She has a BSc MSc MBA and an honorary doctorate in law from the University of Canterbury.

In 1993 she was awarded a QSM for services to the community.
